Habitat Restoration

Habitat restoration is returning a degraded or former habitat to a healthy, self-sustaining condition that is as close to its original, natural state as possible. Examples of restoration provided by Peter Lapidus Construction include removing material from a filled wetland, increasing tidal flow to a restricted wetland, and re-establishing natural river flow.

Natural habitats offer immeasurable benefits not only to native species, but to communities as well. They protect people from flooding, improve water quality, enhance property values, provide recreation opportunities, and support industries based on natural resources, like fishing.

Peter Lapidus Construction has a unique understanding of Santa Barbara and Carpinteria habitat and has helped with dozens of projects geared toward habitat restoration.
