Carpinteria Creek Bailard Stream Bank Restoration

In 2003 we were awarded the job of restoring the bank of Carpinteria Creek on an agricultural piece of land. The bank had washed out during El Nino rains of 2005 and 2007, and the land owner had filled the void with 20,000 yards of concrete rubble to stabilize the bank.

As it was unpermitted, the concrete rubble fill was required to be removed and the bank reconstructed to native condition by the Department of Fish and Game as well as other government agencies.

PLC removed the concrete and debris and recycled the excavated material by crushing it into road base. All steel was sent for recycling, and wood debris was ground into compost. The bank was rebuilt using suitable soil and revegetated with native plants.
