Peter Lapidus Construction, Inc. is a general engineering contractor based in Carpinteria, California. PLC was founded in 2000 with the goal of providing our customers and community a wide range of construction services. We strive to develop long-term relationships with our clients by providing them with custom services tailored to suit their needs.

Our company is well-positioned to perform a broad range of civil construction site work. We have earthmoving equipment in a variety of types & sizes as well as numerous specialty machines, enabling us to perform jobs that are often turned away by more conventional construction companies. We also have a passion for projects that enhance the environment and provide outdoor recreational experiences for the public -- including habitat restoration, parks, trails and outdoor facilities such as camps. We strive to remain sensitive to the needs of the environment, wildlife, and people too; and work towards adopting new technologies that allow us to complete projects and lessen our impact on our surroundings.

We have the skill and tenacity to get difficult to vizualize projects done properly, efficiently and with accuracy, while also having an eye for aesthetics when needed. History

After Peter spent 11 years working for a local general engineering firm, Peter and Hilary Lapidus founded the company in 2000 and have enjoyed the diversity of the work available in Santa Barbara County. Peter grew up on an avocado ranch in Carpinteria, where he learned an appreciation and respect for the outdoors from his grandfather, an avid outdoorsman, teacher, and artist. As a youth, Peter ran tractors on the ranch, acquiring an interest in owning and operating heavy equipment. In addition to running the Construction Company Peter also grows Avocados commercially. Hilary also learned an appreciation for construction early on, when her family built an adobe home on a mountain peak in Toro Canyon when she was a child. She too developed an affinity for large vehicles while riding with her dad in his 18 wheeler. It is this long-term interest in heavy equipment operation and passion for the outdoors that gives Peter Lapidus Construction its strength and vision.
